Volleyball Kneepads Review – Do You Really Know About Mizuno Volleyball Kneepads?

April 8th, 2011

Volleyball kneepads are an essential part of the volleyball uniform. Volleyball product manufacturers have created many types of volleyball kneepads in hopes of meeting the needs of all levels of skilled volleyball players. Whether beginners or pros, volleyball players have many types of name brands and styles of volleyball kneepads to choose from.

Mizuno Volleyball

The Mizuno Volleyball brand name is known and coveted worldwide. Arguably one of the top two manufacturers of volleyball apparel and shoes, professional teams, Olympic teams and top club volleyball teams count Mizuno volleyball as either a sponsor or preferred supplier of clothing and equipment and have maintained their loyalty to the brand for years.

Volleyball Teams Mizuno Sponsors

One example is the sponsorship agreement between USA Volleyball and Mizuno. A longtime supplier to both men’s and women’s teams, in 2001 Mizuno and USA Volleyball, renewed their sponsorship relationship and entered into a long term agreement making Mizuno the official apparel and footwear sponsor for the American men’s and women’s national and Olympic volleyball teams.

Several competitive college volleyball teams competing in the NCAA Division I tournament are sponsored by Mizuno, including the Long Beach State 49ers, Wichita State Shockers, Rice Owls, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and the Wyoming Cowgirls.

Of course on the junior club volleyball team landscape, Mizuno sponsors some of the top club volleyball team programs starting with the Mizuno Long beach Volleyball club headed by long-time director and newly appointed USA Volleyball Board member Joy Mckienzie-Fuerbringer. Other top Mizuno sponsored club volleyball teams include the Texas Tornadoes Mizuno and in the Midwest there’s Sports Performance VBC.

Most recently in Puerto Rico, mizuno entered into an agreement to sponsor the Borinquen Coqui Volleyball Club to become its exclusive title sponsor. for the next two years Mizuno will supply the Boriquen club, the largest volleyball club in Puerto Rico with volleyball apparel, athletic equipment and accessories. Speaking of accessories…

Mizuno Volleyball Kneepads

Mizuno has toop of the line quality kneepads. Favored by many players, Mizuno doesn’t have an extensive line of kneepads, but clearly they’ve placed their focus on quality over quantity. Mizuno volleyball kneepads have design and technological elements that are so unique, so original, they’ve been trademarked.

D.F. Cut

The Mizuno VS-1 and LR-6 kneepads are D.F. Cut. I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen this term for years on every package of Mizuno kneepads I opened and never knew what it meant, unitl now. D.F. Cut stands for Dynamic Function Cut. According to Mizuno USA, dynamic function cut ‘coordinates fabric characteristics with specific sports patterns which eliminates stress and permits unrestricted motion for better performance.”

I found that the most basic of Mizuno kneepads is the T-10. It doesn’t have any of the trademarked bells and whistles, but it has a nine-inch sleeve length covering a lot of skin area above, below and around the knee area, which makes it one of the longest kneepads on the market.

The Mizuno VS-1 kneepad seems to me to be the middle of the road while the LR-6 kneepad is the best Mizuno offers. Both the VS-1 and LR-6 have the trademarked Mizuno Intercool Technology and VS-1 properties. According to Mizuno VS-1 is a shock absorbing and cushioning technology used in Mizuno volleyball shoes and equipment. The Mizuno Intercool technology which is found in all of its footwear as well, is the cooling and ventilation system. The Mizuno Intercool technology has been proven to reduce temperature by 6% and humidity by 12%.

How to Throw a Great Pool Party

April 6th, 2011

Pool parties don’t have to be limited to family – you can invite friends from school or work or neighbors as well. When you decide to host a party, take a good look at your pool, and decide how many people you can comfortably invite. Both the size of the pool and the number of seating areas outside of the pool matter. If you plan on serving food, you need to be sure there are enough places for people to sit and eat as well.

Prior to your party, make sure the pool is clean and in good working order, and pick up some fun accessories. A few floats or inner tubes are always nice, but if you haven’t looked at the latest inflatable offerings lately you may be missing out! Try to find a few things to float on, and a few toys to dive for to have a nice selection of offerings. You can also invest in a volleyball net or a set of floating basketball goals if your pool is large enough for team play.

Swimming burns a ton of calories – so your swimmers will be hungry! Plan on food that is easy to prepare and serve (there is a reason that hot dogs and hamburgers are so closely associated with summertime cookouts!) You can either do the food yourself, or ask guests to brings something, potluck style. Either way, have paper plates and disposable cups on hand to make cleanup a breeze.

Make sure your littlest swimmers are safe by offering life vests-or insisting that non-swimmers bring them along. You can also keep party guests of all ages safe by making a “no running” rule for the pool deck area. A ton of frantic activity in and around the pool may make it more difficult to keep an eye on small children. It may be worth investing in a smaller, inflatable pool for the “baby pool” area – the smallest swimmers can enjoy a good splash while the big kids use the pool.
One of the nicest things about a pool party is that the biggest element – the pool – is already in place! Taking a little bit of time to prepare will ensure that your next party is a great success.

Inground Pool Customization and Accessories

April 5th, 2011

You’re ready for summer and looking forward to countless days spent lounging by the pool. Your pool is an investment, and a part of your property. Color, tile, accessories and landscaping are all wonderful ways to customize your poolside landscape so you can enjoy it exactly the way you want.

Water Features

Inground pools come in so many varieties, the options are limitless. Pool finishes range from white to sand to vibrant and dark indigo blues. One great option for pool customization is installing interactive water features. Waterfalls, beautiful stone lined water slides, fountains and grottoes can be wonderful and attractive additions to your pool area.

Inground Pool Accessories

If your pool is going to be a family hangout, lots of fun options for the whole family are available. Consider adding a hot tub, rinsing showers, or compartments for water toys and flotation devices. Detachable inground pool accessories like diving boards, slides and tunnels can also provide hours of fun for your family. Sports fans can bring their love to the pool with in-pool volleyball nets, floating basketball sets and even floating golf sets for fans of the putting green.

Entertainment Features

You may be building your inground pool as a gathering place for entertaining and spending time with friends. Create a luxury outdoor area with a custom wet bar. If you enjoy cooking out, chose one of the extensive options for BBQs and smoker nooks.

You can also feature your pool as your centerpiece by installing a swim up bar or grilling area. If you are feeling festive, consider tiki huts and torches to spice up your landscape. If you’re investing in a beautiful pool area, of course you’ll want to check out comfortable outdoor furniture for your guests to utilize.

Hidden Features

Some pool customization ideas are hidden from sight but can still enhance your swimming experience. Solar energy heaters are available, and once installed add weeks or months on to the time you get to spend in your inground pool every year. Heating your pool with solar power is an easy way to save big money on your power bill if you choose to heat your pool.

Fitness and Exercise

To use your pool for exercise, consider adding accessories that will help you stay in shape. One option is a pool “treadmill” of sorts. It is a device that attaches to the side of your pool and creates a current which you can swim against.

The added current feature allows you to swim continuously without thinking about flip turns, and the extra resistance helps you work your muscles more in the same amount of time spent swimming traditional laps. You can also buy special weights that float on water, providing resistance when they are pushed under the water.

Safety Features

Of course, accessorizing your inground pool isn’t just for fun. Lots of different options are out there for making your pool safe and secure. In addition to fences and other barriers, like walls and shrubs, a variety of pool alarms exist. You can install an alarm in your inground pool so that if a child gets close to the water, the alarm will sound inside or outside your home.

No matter what kind of pool you choose options for accessorizing and customizing your new swimming area are virtually endless. The internet is a great tool. Browse local contractor’s websites before choosing, and use pool sale and design sites to get ideas for your inground pool installation. And of course, remember to have fun making your pool your very own.
